Hermès Exotics Collier De Chien Bracelets

Ladies, you know what this is, it is Hermès’ signature fashion jewellery piece, the Collier de Chien (or CdC, for short), except this time the ones you see right here are the ones that come in the very precious exotic skins. You could say, the ones in croc and lizard skins are the finer, more elevated versions of the ones we typically see in leathers like Box and Epsom, and it’s precisely for this reason that they are highly sought after, and valued by ladies (and some men) who love a good CdC.

Available in a wide array of colours, they come in 3 different hardware finishes, namely Gold (GHW), Palladium (PHW) and Rose Gold (RGHW) with an assortment of sizes that will suit most wrists.

For the ones in exotic croc, it comes in matte or polished versions in favourite colours like Noir and Rose, while for the lizard skins, aside from the solid colours, the ombré versions are really luxe. While pieces in exotic skins aren’t as readily available as the ones in calfskin leather, checks have been done at the Hermès boutiques in Singapore and here are the pieces available and prices just for you.

There are the lizard skin pieces, including the ombre ones, and they are priced at SGD2050 each (there’s one available in ombré/RGHW over at Takashimaya Shopping Centre), while the ones in exotic croc are priced at SGD2900. As for the ones in calfskin leather? SGD1700, which also means it is well worth the price to pay slightly more for the ones in exotics.

Hermès S/S16 Collier de Chien

IMAGE: HERMÈS

This isn’t necessarily a new post on the Collier de Chien, and truth be told I did many of these posts before. And there isn’t anything actually new about it either, well save for the fact that it now comes in RGH (rose-gold plated) as well, which frankly already happened long ago. There’s also palladium (silver), gold (yellow-gold plated) and something called Permabrass (correct me if I’m wrong), a shade or so lighter than your regular yellow gold.

It comes in 3 sizes, XS, S, and L, with girls usually going for the first two sizes and boys opting for the last. And then there’s the leather they come in, which range from the smooth and suave Swift calfskin to the reliably grained Epsom calfskin that’s pretty good at warding off accidental scratches and nicks.

I guess the point I’m trying to make after everything I’ve said is this. While it used to be harder to spot (and buy) a Collier de Chien in the past (finding one in any store was akin to spotting a unicorn in the enchanted forest), increased production and decreased demand (again, I’m just guessing here) have made it easier to actually get the one your heart so desires, which frankly was unheard of in the past.

On Hermès’ UK online portal alone I found the 15 you see above, each one different, each one prettier than the last. Priced at GBP780 apiece (or around SGD1500 after conversion), I’ll sign off with its prices in EUR, USD as well, which are EUR975 andUSD1150, or SGD1495 and SGD1557 after conversion respectively.

Hermès Collier de Chien Permabrass Rose Gold

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

hermes_collier-de-chien-permabrass-rose-goldBecause it’s my job to keep everyone reading this little blog of mine as updated as possible, here’s something I chanced upon by accident, confirmed with a Hermès representative and then got someone to do a little bit of Photoshop for the purposes of this entry.

Having already released a few pieces of permabrass-plated rose gold bracelets like the Java 10, it’s confirmed that the iconic and ever-popular Collier de Chien will also be launched later in the year (I was told it’s part of the F/W15 collection) and yes, you guessed it, in rose gold (does that make it RGHW then?). And because the official images weren’t ready at the writing of this post, let’s just say someone who’s very good with Photoshop chipped in so just that all of you will have a better idea of how these bracelets will look like in the new hue.

Priced at EUR945/GBP870/USD1250, the wait list is probably already a mile (or 10) long by now, so best you get yourself on that list too because I have a feeling that everyone who already owns a Collier de Chien in any other hardware hue will surely want to add this to their collection as well.
